“Sting’s album ‘The Bridge’ is intimate (‘The Hills on the Border’) and introspective (‘Harmony Road’) with moments of declarative urgency (‘Rushing Water’) and delicate emotion (‘For Her Love).’ It’s also rife with motivic exploration (‘If It’s Love’) and playful fancy (‘Captain Bateman’s Basement’). I took these photos during the recording sessions for this album in the isolated times of November 2020. I can’t help but feel like the pictures go some way towards capturing what I can only describe as the bubble of light that surrounded these sessions. The Telegraph would later write the following about this album: ‘“The Bridge” is out of time yet timeless, pure pop class.’” - Martin Kierszenbaum, July 20th, 2025
